Frequently Asked Questions

  • The LA Bachazouk Weekender is a Los Angeles-based bachata dance festival where top artists from around the world will come to teach and share their passion for the new dance style of Bachazouk.

  • The Weekender will last from March 27-29 2026. See our schedule page for more info on class and social start times.

  • This is not just another festival bringing the same idol artists as have come to the US every year. We specifically chose next-generation artists that are well-known in their local communities for being strong instructors with good technique and are excellent social dancers. We have 3 Jack and Jill champions in our lineup including the World Champion from the bachata social World Cup in Geneva, Jerem.

This event is about bringing top level talent to help you level-up your dance skills and specifically teach you the techniques you need to build your Bachazouk foundation.

  • Our event has 2 venues:

Dancer University Westwood is the main venue where all of the workshops except the pre-social Saturday workshop will take place. The Friday social will also take place at DU Westwood.

The Saturday Pre Social Workshop, Social and Jack and Jill will happen at Aesthetic Dance Studios in Sherman Oaks which is about a 20 minute drive from Dancer University Westwood.

  • Jerem & Jade are a bachazouk couple from Paris, France. Jerem is the current Bachata Social World Cup champion and he and his partner Jade teach their unique, flashy style of Bachazouk all over Europe. They will be teaching in the US for the first time at our weekender!

Mario and Lidia are one of our two returning couples from our last weekender. They are both Escencia Studios (Marco and Sara’s dance studio) instructors in Madrid and are very well versed in bachata and zouk technique. They are known for their super light, soft and relaxed style of Bachazouk. Mario and Lidia regularly teach around the world and have become local favorites every time they come here to Los Angeles.

Iman and Nadina are the preeminent Bachazouk couple from the UK and own a new generation dance academy in London called La Fabrica London. Iman is the current UK Bachata Champion and has taught with Nadina all over Europe. He has also taught with other famous artists around Europe such as Liza (the 2024 Bachata Social World Cup Champion), Laisinha, and Polina (from Masa and Polina). Nadina is originally from Italy and regularly teaches in her home country as well as around the UK. Both of them host the BachazoUK Festival in London which brings many of the most talented bachazouk dancers in the world. They will be teaching in the US for the first time at the La Bachazouk Weekender.

Chesco and Kiana are both bachazouk dancers and teachers from the DMV region of the United States. Chesco runs the Bachazouk brand on instagram and regularly discusses trending topics related to this new style. Kiana is an ambassador to Bachata Sensual America and has been trained in the sensual style by artists such as Korke and Judith and Aitor. She is the current champion of the Toronto Level Up Jack and Jill which is one of the highest level Jack and Jill competitions in North America. Both are excited to teach in LA for the first time at the LA Bachazouk Weekender.

Robinson and Larissa are our second returning couple from our last weekender. Both are Zouk champions (Larissa also recently got second place at the Elevation Brazilian Zouk Advanced Jack and Jill). They are known for their creativity, positive energy and flashy zouk performances. Recently, they have been translating their zouk experience to the Bachazouk style to great success. • No, you don’t need zouk experience to enjoy the classes or socials. While zouk experience is helpful for the classes, it is not a requirement to attend. All our artists are trained in Brazilian Zouk and will give you the tools you need to add Bachazouk to your repertoire. At the socials, people will be dancing a mix of Dominican, Sensual, Urban and Bachazouk, so there is no need to know how to dance only one style.

  • Yes, there will be tickets to enter the socials at the door. The Classes however will likely not have space by the time the event comes around and tickets to get a spot in the classes (with the exception of the pre-social workshop on Saturday) should be purchased in advance before they sell out. See our ticket tailor page and instagram updates to see the current status of tickets.

  • This event is a 100% bachata so only bachata music will be played at the socials. A mix of modern sensual songs and classics will be played leaning more towards the current popular hits. We make sure to play songs people want to hear that are easier to dance to or are familiar. Artists that will be prominently featured in the DJ sets include:

Prince Royce, Romeo Santos, Pinto Picasso, Dani J, JR, Dimelo Cupido, Shama, Sebas Garetta, Charles Luis, Montelier, Mayinbito, Jensen, Ronny Dae and Jalil Lopez among others.

Rest assured that bad remixes are illegal at these socials and will not be tolerated.

  • You must purchase a ticket that includes the Saturday evening social to enter the Jack and Jill Competition. Make sure you purchase the right ticket for either lead or follow depending on what role you want to compete in. Full Pass, Party Pass, Saturday Day & Night Pass, and Saturday Social passes all include the social.
